For and in consideration of the sum of five hundred ($500.00) dollars three hundred and twenty five ($325.00) dollars of which is paid in cash, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and the balance evidenced by four notes of the grantees each for $43.75 dated of this date and payable in six, twelve, eighteen, and twenty four months from date with interest from date, and secured by a vendor’s lien upon the real estate herein conveyed, I, John T. Speight hereby sell, transfer and convey unto Isaac Moore, the following described real estate situated on Lookout mountain in the present 4th Civil District of Hamilton County, Tennessee and being the south 270 feet by 110 feet of the following described two pieces of property deeded to me by deed registered in Book “F” Vol. 7, page 142: “Being a lot or parcel of ground on Lookout Mountain beginning at a stake in road near to and north of Goddard’s Spring, running thence southwardly along the old road two hundred ten (210) feet to a stake, thence eastwardly at right angles with said line one hundred ten (110) feet to a stake thence northwardly parallel to the first line two hundred ten (210) feet to a stake, thence in a direct line to the beginning and containing one half (½) acres more or less and being the same conveyed by Jabez Goddard, Mrs. Sarah P. Goddard and Mrs. Jane Johnson by deed dated Jan. 27, 1891 and recorded in Book “J” Vol. 4, pages 148 and 149 Register’s office, Hamilton County, Tennessee. Also a lot or parcel of land in Hamilton County, beginning on the southeast corner of the land just described in this deed and running southwardly with the line of this land two hundred ten (210) feet; thence at right angles westwardly one hundred ten (110) feet; thence northwardly two hundred ten (210) feet to the southwest corner of first described lot; thence eastwardly along the line of said first described lot one hundred ten (110) feet to the beginning and containing one half (½) acre more or less, and being the same conveyed by Jabez Goddard, Sarah P. Goddard and Mrs. Jane Johnson by deed dated Jan. 27, 1891 and recorded in Book “J” Vol. 4, pages 148 and 149 Register’s office, Hamilton County, Tennessee.” To have and to hold the same unto the said Isaac Moore his heirs and assigns forever. I covenant that I am lawfully seized and possessed of said real estate; have a lawful right to sell and convey it; that the title is free, clear and unencumbered, and I will warrant and defend the title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. And I, Josephine Speight, wife of the said John T. Speight, hereby join in this deed for the purpose of conveying unto the grantee all right to dower and homestead which I have or may have in and to the real estate hereinbefore described.
